Did you know there are other ways to acquire AIDS or are you stuck in the ignorant dark ages? How about addressing the actual topic instead of turning it into a homophobic rant?

From LA Times

The market for Daraprim may be much smaller. Although as many as 60 million Americans may harbor the toxoplasma parasite, which can be picked up from undercooked meats, unwashed fruits and vegetables or contaminated soil or litter boxes (cat feces is a major vector), the vast majority never will experience symptoms.

The risk population is the extremely elderly, infants who may acquire the bug from their mothers, and immunosuppressed patients such as those with HIV. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated the number of hospitalizations due to the bug at about 4,400 a year and deaths at 327.

Increases in the standard of living of mankind is directly linked to how much economic (and political) freedom exists to allow inventions, creations and life changing prescription drugs.

Capitalism is responsible for the existence of the drug mentioned by the OP, and capitalism is responsible for the increase in cost.

Too many socialists want to have their cake and eat it too. And while doing it off the back of capitalism.

It's not specifically and AIDS medicine though. It is used a lot for people with AIDS, but cancer patients and others with compromised immune systems can get the fungal infection that the drug is designed to treat.

The origins of the internet were in a defense network, called arpanet. Then it evolved into a network between government laboratories, universities, etc. Then when capitalism first came along and infected it, it became mostly a porn network.

What you preach about capitalism vs socialism is a well known mantra. This kind of forum is for intelligent discussion, not for repetition of well known mantras.

Unbridle capitalism has been a complete failure, we now have 50% of the population living at or below the poverty line.
The rich keep on getting richer while the poor keep getting poorer and the middle class is disappearing.

I also want to point out that the TPP which is being negotiated in secrecy will enable drug companies to hold their drugs for much longer time before they are made available as generics.

I don't like Bernie, but a mix seems...well, let me put it another way. Instead of worrying so much about whether our system is capitalistic OR socialistic, maybe we should make our system PRAGMATIC.

The following is the common approach to all issues by conservatives and liberals.

A conservative says:
"It hasn't happened to me, so I don't care"
A liberal says,
"It should never happen to anyone, and that is why I care."
