Funny that it is such an issue in the US. We have six months DST in our south eastern states but not in Queensland. Hardly hear discussion about it.
We were however a bit concerned last October 1st, the change over date, when we realised we needed a taxi or Uber to the airport at 3am, which is the exact changeover time. Wanted to book it and worried it might all get confused and turn up an hour early (clocks move forward here in October) So decided to book for 3 15 am and it was no problem.
I like DST as I enjoy the long evenings.
