What do you guys think about school/work on Monday? I know we are supposed to get a few hours of higher temps this afternoon but freezing again tonight.

Me too.

FYI...Many areas up north are no better prepared for ice than Texas. Connecticut is a super-high tax state, and that doesn't stop us from frequently losing power due to snow, high winds, blue-moons, etc...

And when I say power outages - I am talking days, even weeks at a time. When I moved to CT from TX, I learned the hard way why so many people around here have generators.

Stay safe out there.

Easier said than done, they can't predict weather 100%. It wasn't that long ago they predicted snow and nothing happened. That would have been money down the drain. And that is if they could have gotten the equipment in time.

If you guys new to Texas don't like the weather, "Stick around, it will change." So just chill

A 25-year old man was found dead this morning. Car went off road and crashed into a tree at Royal and Preston.

Finally some truth to counter the views of the ignorant...

This is not true. Talk to anyone from the Northeast. Combine their state income tax plus their property taxes and you'll get a higher rate.

A major intersection - that's the problem with a prolonged freeze: the interstates get sanded and traveled while the side streets stay in an icy tomb. Schools can't remain closed so tomorrow the buses roll and have to enter these neighborhoods that are no better than they were Saturday.

I saw a report this morning on Channel 8 News about the canceled flights at DFW airport. They said that the airport has the latest and best snow removal equipment, but that there is nothing they can do against all of this ice.

If the airports have the best snow removal aides, don't you think that if there was anything they could do against the ice that they would have it? Do it?

Ice always wins.

The schools can't remain closed? Why is that? Isn't there a makeup schedule plan like other schools? Just wondering...
