You would never pass me going 65. I go as fast as I can (traffic generally dictates the speed). That being said, I quit going over 90 mph once I had kids.

Default I-35E from I-635 to US-380 construction

I live in Coppell ( Intersection Sandy Lake and Mac Arthur)

I work close to Parkland Hospital in Dallas and I would like to find another route to avoid the traffic after 5pm due to this construction that just started.

Thanks

Why are you driving to 380 if you live in Coppell.

I'm guessing you didn't mean 380?

FWIW, my husband (we live in the same area, he is going to the same location) usually takes Belt Line to 1-35 and down. Alternatively, you could go the other direction on Belt Line down to 114 and take that in.

I think he's saying 380 only to describe the construction project.

To OP I'd take 114.

You guys were right, I was only describing the construction project to 380.
So I guess my best choice would be to take 114 and then exit in Mac Arthur and then go to Coppell.

Your speedometer must be mis-calibrated.

Probably, although MacArthur (and Belt Line) can take forever too. I guess if you are worried about exits closing, then maybe.

I miss the old days (just a few years ago) when Dallas traffic consisted of rush hour traffic. We'd have traffic from 7 am to 9 am and then from 4 pm to 6 pm. Now it seems like we have traffic all day long. The traffic isn't always caused by the cars either. Much of the traffic in North Dallas is caused by the traffic lights which still use the technology of 1960s. Many of the North Dallas traffic lights don't have sensors and they go this cycle where it's green for 30 seconds and red for 90 seconds regardless of what time of the day it is and what condition the traffic is. You might be going to Wal-Mart at 11 pm and be stopped by 4 red lights in a row and keep sitting under a red light even though you are probably the only car within a mile radius. All other big cities have traffic lights with sensors where if you are alone in an intersection late at night, you won't be made to sit under a red light for absolutely no reason.

Just 10 minutes ago (around 8 pm local time), I was on DNT and there was this idiot in front of me who was invading the left lane going 60-62 miles per hour. As soon as room opened in the middle lane, I got there and passed him very quickly by going right below 70 mph. A minute later, there was another car going far below the speed limit, again, invading the left lane. I see this every single day.
