This year's weather has produced the best Fall Color I've seen in Texas in the 10 Falls I've lived here.

Well, it looks like we’re going to have multiple hard freezes next week...

Just as long as the evening of November 16th is okay. We're having our (late) Diwali party then which means going outside to light sparklers and lanterns.

Loving the cooler weather!

Maybe Saturday will be the last time I have to cut the lawn this year!

I swear I saw a few snowflakes today. (The weather variety, not the people variety).

Greetings from Austin we had a decent sleet and ice storm last night. everything had a nice coating of ice this morning. To the OP it did indeed get cold very quick this year.. Summer came late and stayed late and when it left Autumn was very brief. The first freeze was a entire month early and I know it hasn't iced this early in probably a decade in hill country and Austin.

The year without Autumn indeed.

Being somewhat new to Texas, I always wonder how areas south of DFW end up with sleet/ice and we get rain.

I appreciate your post; this is exactly what I meant.

Many of times the air will be cold enough to support sleet or snow in Dallas but the moisture is absent. I know a couple of years ago it snowed 2-3 inches in Austin, Houston and New Orleans meanwhile Dallas was 26, cold and windy. haha. But when it does snow in DFW the amounts will be more of the order of 5 to 6 inches so take comfort in that.

Interesting, thanks.

So how does it work that west Texas gets snow when DFW doesn't? I thought West Texas was drier?
