Well, RDLR, I admit to loving the setup and all the festivities that are coming and also once it is done just sitting in front of the tree and reflecting upon all the great Christmas seasons that I have had. That said, the tree and all the rest will be up and lit until little Christmas at which time, I start to de-Christmas. I also reason with myself, that it is too much and I need to scale back, it is a monumental task to get it all down and packed away and takes a good 5 days start to finish. Then I do the same thing all over again because I do so enjoy it.

Nuts....my mother always referred to Little Christmas as "Three Kings". Yep, we have the same timeline for taking Christmas down.
(Pete is probably the smart one of the bunch)

Great to see Rdlr, Nuts, and Pete on here!! I stay decorated until Little Christmas as well. I start decorating about two weeks before Thanksgiving because there is so much of it and I do it all by myself. My husband likes it, but the decorating is all on me. I also have to work around my husband's work schedule; I cannot decorate inside when he works nights and sleeps in during the day because I will wake him. He works nights this week so I will hit the outside once the weather clears. My next door neighbor moved and gave me a couple hundred dollars' worth of decor (deer, trees, etc.) to add to my big collection so there will be even more outside this year. I keep saying I will scale back, but it seems more is added every year. It does take a lot of my time and energy but I'll keep on going while I can.....

Now that we've jumped into Christmas........What's everybody doing for Thanksgiving? We are not going "traditional" this year. Kids are adults, grandkids are adults, and I insisted that everybody do their own thing. After all, they each have a home, they each have husband/wives/in-laws, boyfriends and girlfriends, and it's gotten very complicated. So, I'm relieved that husband and I are going to the huge Thanksgiving Buffet at Harrington Casino.....no pressure. A couple days after that, is our 60th Wedding Anniversary (yes, I'm not 35 years old). On that day, there's another dinner (at an undisclosed location) with all of us in attendance to celebrate my husband and I for sticking it out! Then, we'll tackle the Christmas Dinner....where and when...etc. Sounds like I'm going to break the scale when I weigh in on Jan. 1st!

Maybe you two can tear up the rug to this,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1c0B0q6oK2E. Really, Congrats to you and Mr. RDLR.

My sister is living with us until the work is completed in her new home, so she is doing Thanksgiving here and I am not cooking at all. Actually I am in charge of the dessert so that is easy.

Thanks Nuts. Actually, Mr. RDLR and I jitter bugged (you wouldn't remember that dance) at Heritage Shores a few weeks ago. Amazing how we never forgot, but the foot-work wasn't quite as polished. I told my husband not to pick me up and slide me between his legs since I'd be landing in front of the band. I didn't want to scare the guys into losing their beat.

If nobody knows...Heritage Shores is a 55+ community near Bridgeville. In addition to their clubhouse, they have a huge building called the Sugar Beet Market, with live bands almost every week end....(open to the public). Not sure if they have bands during the winter months. We've been frequenting that place for the last year or so, since we've discovered that we don't quite fit in with the clientele at bars/taverns anymore.
