Everyone's triggered by something. The same people who pooh-pooh the renaming movement are almost always the ones who have been triggered by OMG they're forcing me to wear a mask they're taking my freedom!

With the number one trigger for most people being change.

Of any kind — good, bad, indifferent, necessary, frivolous, whatever. An astonishing number of people will vehemently object to (or at least whine about) any change at all in their world. This could be renaming a park from one uncontroversial name to another for memorial reasons... and they'd bang their stein on the bar about it, just because change.

Be glad we're seeing the Stapleton name change. It means we're capable of growing, moving beyond prescribed norms, acknowledging previously hidden history and learning from past mistakes. It's good news.

Just rename everything after numbers, people can't object to that can they? Easiest places to get around and find use numerical and directional names. Instead of Columbus Park, you now go to NW 51st Park. Would that make people happy?

666? Some wacko "Christians" would object.
4? Some weirdo Mandarin speakers would object.
13? Too many crazies would object.

And, yes, I am mocking people who are into numerology.

its one thing to have a Supreme Court decision
but
another to have an environment that up dates people's belief systems for the better.

No one is "rewriting history." We're moving forward and letting go of negativity. I 100% support this.
