Yes. It does have Ghettos...compared to Boulder standards. Move to Boulder and leave the big city on its own..

I am new and just read this, I have just moved from the Cleveland area and wanted to comment that I have NEVER seen anything in Denver that compares to neighborhoods in Cleveland. It can be pretty scary if you find yourself in the wrong area of Cleveland- in a way I never imagined until I lived there for a year.

I wanted to add to my first post, compared to Cleveland/Akron area- Denver doesn't have a ghetto. There were places I didn't even want to drive through during the day in that area. I can't think of one place I wouldn't walk down the street during the day here in Denver. It's like comparing night and day.

Denver isn't the same Denver as it was in The late 60's - thru the early 90's. Denver's 5 Points was a thriving black community but it had it's issues with drugs and gangs. Curtis Park was not a good Place to be and someone could get hurt if they weren't from there. Park Hill was really ghetto back then, lot's of voilence and gang infested. North Denver over by old Elitches was run by some pretty touch home grown gangs (La Raza). What has happened is those areas have been cleaned up, so now you have hot spots or just the people of those areas relocating (Aurora) primarily people from 5 points. North Denver is still the same to me IMHO.

Agreed. I moved out here from Westpark, the neighborhood in Cleveland where all of the cops lived, and it was probably as bad as the rougher Denver neighborhoods that I've been in so far.

Yeah, objectively, there's crime, just like any city. However, on a subjective level, it's pretty low if you've moved here from Cleveland, like the OP had.
