Advertisements

I recently discovered the website kajiji. Its all classified ads and i am amazed at the amount of ads posted everyday for dogs and puppies for sale.SO many pitbull puppies It really kills me.They charge anywhere from $200++++Even for adults!!Who in their right mind would pay that much for a dog thats literally in EVERY shelter and breed rescue.Half of the people that write these ads cant even spell, have gross living conditions for the babies, its so ridiculously obvious its a group of young morons just in it for a quick buck.i dont even want to think about where these poor souls are going.Half of these "pitbulls"dont even look right. Some dont look like full pits, some are 100+lbs with HUGE heads.Thats NOT how theyre supposed to look. Many of these babies are from the less desirable neighborhoods so that makes my stomach turn.It just kills me because i hold these dogs to end their lives because no one decent wants them and everyday more are being brought into this world. This post really has no purpose except for me to vent.My emotions are getting the best of me once again. This type of work kicks your ass after awhile.

Oh, I know that site well! It's known as the puppy mill advertising site. Craigslist flags, but you can't flag them here. They also sell designer mutts for well over $1000 each. It's a shame that people actually buy from them, and with the holidays coming, I'm sure they'll have great business.

Kijiji, at least in my area, also has a large number of dog ads from shelters and rescues. In which case. I hope they do have a boom over the holidays.

Oh, you want to talk about a BYB? I took PC to the park today, and there was a woman (she's a regular) with her Pitbull and a kennel. While her adult dog is playing, she begins to take out Pitbull puppies from that kennel. There had to be at least 8, if not more. They looked so tiny, I mean not even 5 weeks old! She put them on the ground so that other dogs could sniff them and let anyone that wanted to handle them. She was selling them, because you know, dogs make excellent Christmas gifts! At the dog park. How totally trashy. I wonder how many won't make it now that they've been exposed to who knows what at the park.

One of the adoption sites has linked to them now. I think it's Adopt-A-Pet. I keep getting e-mails from people that pretty much say 'I want your dog - when can I have it and can you bring it to me'. Makes me crazy. Have not had a real lead off that site yet. I may see if I can find out who is linked to them and see if there's a way to keep my fosters off that site. Don't like it at all. It's as bad as golsn dot com in my area. That's where all the BYBs list their dogs.

Although, I decided to fight fire with fire this year there:

Local Sales Network - Discount Christmas pets! in Bone Cave, TN #1243690 - Go LSN!

Kijiji gets breeders a lot scammers also.

I only use a site to sell pups and it less us put scammer's, brokers and known puppy millers on list so cannot advertise or try to buy there.

I avoid kijiji completely for this very reason and very rarely visit Craigslist's pet section anymore.
