I think diplomacy would be a better start rather than threats of destruction and sanctions. Is it so hard for you to comprehend that acts of war only strengthen their resolve to have them?
Newt won the debate and Santorum got crushed(not sure he even belonged on the stage with the other three). Paul and Romney had their moments but Newt really shined most of the night. Too bad he is Newt and has so much baggage, it would be fun to watch him debate Obama.
Willard reminds me of Al Bore, no personality at all, while Newt is full of it, and probably why he does so well in debates. If Paul can't win I'd rather have Newt win over Willard and Santorum. Santorum is aggravating, listening to him rip public schooling while taking money from PA taxpayers to home school his kids in Virginia.

...and he gave no plan on how to prevent it. He's against sanctions, having bases in the area as a deterrent or direct military intervention. Paul says a lot of cutesy things but never gives details that are practical.
He has called for diplomacy, a term lost on you war mongers and Chickenhawks.

How would his diplomatic overtures be more successful than past and current diplomatic overtures? How would taking a military strike off the table publicly (even if you would try very hard to avoid it) not embolden them?
All the candidates on that stage aside from Ron Paul espoused scarily neoconservative views of foreign policy. It's rather disappointing, considering how badly that ideology failed us in Iraq. And yet, it still seems to be the predominant foreign policy view within the GOP.
Ron Paul just took top place in this debate with his statement about taking an oath to the people and the Constitution, not to the party!!!!!
