So there is no lobbiest in the White House?

The Republicans have made lying central to being a Republican. Their politicians know that their voters are just stupid people; sure, they use euphemisms like "low information voters" and stuff like that but the basic fact is their voters are poorly educated, not very worldly, not well informed, and just gullible. You can see this is true just looking at the threads right wing conservatives make on this forum. They treat their own people with the contempt they deserve.

Virtually all politicians lie, both Republican and Democrat. What's insane is pointing the finger at one candidate and crying foul while the candidate you support has been doing the same thing since before he was elected. He did promise to keep lobbiest out of the White House,...and then he appointed a large number of them to his staff. That's just one of many lies he's told the public.

Or more likely, not enough for a bottled water. Romney knows that if it is found out that he paid no taxes it would PO a lot of people.

Exactly. Republicans spend more time talking about fantasy President Obama than they do discussing the real President Obama.

Default It's not acceptable

This is why he's failing despite all the fool money being thrown to support his ridiculous campaign. Many rich donors would prefer to donate millions to this clueless goon's campaign so they can get richer rather than investing that money in medical research to find cures for diseases like Cancer or Alzheimer's. It's quite a shame. Mitt can continue with the lies and deceptive marketing, but he still is being devoured by not revealing his tax returns and the Bain problems. He can't win.

Who gives a crap? Romney doesn't have a chance in hell of winning the election, period. It just isn't going to happen. I don't really know what happened to the Republicans. I'm not sure if there simply isn't a single decent Republican in politics right now, or if the party is just too full of idiots to be able to pick a decent candidate. But regardless, they chose Romney, who stands for absolutely nothing, and is a complete embarrassment to all real conservatives.

Romney is just being a typical politician, looking more like a puppet than a man. He has no character, and I don't respect him. He will not win, I don't think it will even be close.

George Bush was basically run out of Washington, but I believe Romney would even lose to George W. Bush in a landslide. At least Bush had some damn balls, and seemed like he actually believed in something.

So go ahead with your outrage over Mitt Romney, but it doesn't matter. Because Romney won't come anywhere close to becoming the president.

I don't see it as acceptable, but it is understandable when you look into the group designing his campaign efforts. It's the old Abramoff crew, minus Jack. THEY'RE BACK!

Obamas own attack ad shows Romney "only" paid $3.2M a year in taxes.. Are you calling Obama a liar?

How ironic, considering the thread is about making false statements..

What makes it so pervasive is that lying, as a deliberate strategy, means it is hard to keep track of all your lies, as these are not your beliefs, and you only say what is necessary to please a target audience, and once you start with this strategy, you are bound to it. Little lies become big lies, and big lies become huge lies.
Exactly. Plus, Romney is so used to simply purchasing and destroying the "evidence" (computers while governor of Mass., Olympic records, secrecy in temples, etc.) that he tends to forget that so many of his lies are on tape. He is trying to buy and/or steal this election outright, and it is up to us, the "little people" who outnumber Romney and his minions, to not let him get away with that!
