In virtually all jurisdictions that I know of, you can register by mail or over the Internet. The voter ID laws require ID at time of voting.

Actually in the court case we are talking about it was established that over 750 thousand register voters in PA lack an approved government photo ID.

Who cares what the judge says if he is a republican tool? It happens - much like the Supreme Court "fast five". They are there because of their right-wing agendas and devotion to the repug base. If Simpson has a right-wing agenda, his ruling is probably just pandering, and needs to be challenged.

And what is stopping them from getting one?

The US Supreme Court has upheld voter ID laws as long as certain conditions are met.

Crawford vs. Marion County Election Board

Now, I am not familiar with this case and don't know whether a challenge was brought under the US Constitution or PA Constitution, but as long as they meet certain requirements they are definitely constitutional under the US Constitution.

Adding a cost to the poor, manipulation of DMV hours in democratic districts requiring long drives by people who may not have transportation. The aged who have no birth certificate and must travel to another state to get one.
Just making it tough for the Democratic base and addressing a non-issue for political gain. An attempt to undermine the lower-class vote - which the wealthy Republican base hates.

There are no added costs. Voter I.D. cards are free and even if you don't get around to getting one, as long as you are registered you can still vote.

You obviously have read none of this thread. Indeed you should be smacking yourself upside the head.

If they are 92 and don't drive it might be hard.

This has been covered many times in this thread though. They don't have to get one to vote.
