If someone registered as a dead person, then they would also have to somehow get a fraudulent picture ID with the dead persons name on it.
PS: The opposition to the case couldn't show a SINGLE Case of anyone being turned away or disenfranchised because of lack of a Voter ID either....it cuts BOTH ways.
In virtually all jurisdictions that I know of, you can register by mail or over the Internet. The voter ID laws require ID at time of voting.
PA also accepts photo IDs from retirement homes and colleges for voting. PA estimates less than 1% of registered voters do not have the proper voting ID. Free voter IDs are available.
Actually in the court case we are talking about it was established that over 750 thousand register voters in PA lack an approved government photo ID.
The judge stated that it INSURES THE INTEGRITY OF THE SACRED VOTING PROCESS
Who cares what the judge says if he is a republican tool? It happens - much like the Supreme Court "fast five". They are there because of their right-wing agendas and devotion to the repug base. If Simpson has a right-wing agenda, his ruling is probably just pandering, and needs to be challenged.

The US Supreme Court has upheld voter ID laws as long as certain conditions are met.
Crawford vs. Marion County Election Board
Now, I am not familiar with this case and don't know whether a challenge was brought under the US Constitution or PA Constitution, but as long as they meet certain requirements they are definitely constitutional under the US Constitution.
Adding a cost to the poor, manipulation of DMV hours in democratic districts requiring long drives by people who may not have transportation. The aged who have no birth certificate and must travel to another state to get one.
Just making it tough for the Democratic base and addressing a non-issue for political gain. An attempt to undermine the lower-class vote - which the wealthy Republican base hates.
This has been covered many times in this thread though. They don't have to get one to vote.
