The Romneys donated $4,020,772 to charity in 2011, amounting to nearly 30% of their income.
The Romneys claimed a deduction for $2.25 million of those charitable contributions.
The Romneys’ generous charitable donations in 2011 would have significantly reduced their tax obligation for the year. The Romneys thus limited their deduction of charitable contributions to conform to the Governor's statement in August, based upon the January estimate of income, that he paid at least 13% in income taxes in each of the last 10 years.
Hmmmm......the Romneys claimed only a little more than half in charitable deductions than they were legally entitled to. Can hardly wait to see how the libs will spin that one.
Oh, wait, I know. They will come on here saying donations to the Mormon Church aren't really "charitable" deductions. Even when they don't have any idea which charities the $4 mil went to.
Why should I believe a tax rate he reports? I have a problem with a candidate who parks money in foreign tax shelters, especially when he had ample opportunity to move his money back to US accounts. I have a problem with a candidate who berates folks who take tax credits(passed by Republicans, I might add), but uses them to his advantage.

If he was cheating ( like Geitner) Obama's IRS would be after him. They are not.

If nothing else, people would be able to see how the wealthy and influential have stacked the tax deck in their favor. Romney's returns would be a real eye opener, something that could change the direction of the debate about taxes going forward. People would be shocked to see the deductions and financial tricks the wealthy employ to pay lower rates than working people pay.

Don't you think the IRS would screaming bloody murder right now....if they had a problem...I mean heck...they even called out Buffet and how much his company owes.... (which BTW is MORE than Romney is worth).
