"The campaign said that Mr. Romney’s tax liability would have been far lower in 2011 had the Romneys claimed all the full deduction for their charitable contributions. Instead, the campaign said that Mr. Romney took a smaller deduction so that his tax liability would be above the 13 percent that he had earlier said he paid.
“The Romneys thus limited their deduction of charitable contributions to conform to the governor’s statement in August, based upon the January estimate of income, that he paid at least 13 percent in income taxes in each of the last 10 years,” said R. Bradford Malt, Mr. Romney’s trustee."
Apparently, Romney purposefully paid more taxes than he really owed to avoid contradicting his statement that he never paid less than 13% of his taxes.
Is it asking too much that you get your stupid story straight?
He claimed less deductions than he could have. That's not even remotely the same thing as paying more than he owed.
Good God Almighty. There seriously is no hope for America.
Giving to the cult that he belongs to is not a "real" charity.
He is still only paying 14% of his income, which is less than many of the 53% that pay taxes in this country.
Do you not realize that churches, even if it isn't something you believe in, do a lot of their own charity work with that money? This is very closed minded and petty of you in my opinion. We all should have the right to give to our charitable organization that we want too worrying about people judgeing us.
This is exactly why Romney was stupid beyond belief to bring up this crap again. I knew this would happen. Lilke a bunch of damned chickens clucking and crapping all over the place.

It is possible, however, that Mr. Rommey could still deduct the unclaimed amount of his charitable donations in future tax years, experts said.
The fact that Romney is only disclosing a summery is a red flag there is something in his full tax returns before 2011, he doesn't want the public to see.
