an article in the LA times on the topic:

Question Ted Cruz should ask: Can a foreign-born American be president? - LA Times

the author sides in the belief that cruz is eligible but cites legal scholars that believe it will be challenged once cruz announces his candidacy.

You are aware Cruz is a total insider politician and not a grassroots Tea Party member?

I'd be more interested in his and his fathers immigration papers as its not easy to immigrate to America or Canada yet the Cruz's seem to flit from Cuba to USA to Canada back to USA with no effort at all.

Cruz held dual citizenship until recently. As a Canadian citizen, he had no problems visiting Cuba, as Canada recognizes Cuba as a nation. Cuban immigration to Canada is not difficult to accomplish.

Tea party is not a political party.
Here it is coming upon 10 years since the tea parties first gathering and many still don't have a clue what the tea party is.

It is conservative grassroots. The tea Party likes him. Ted Cruz is not Tea Party. It is the Tea Party that like him

I never said the Tea Party was a party, it is just a bunch of Republicans that gave themselves a funny name. Not much of a grassroots group once you follow where the money comes from and that they tend to support establishment Republicans like Cruz.

Aside from that I think many on the left want Ted Cruz to be the GOP nominee because of his tea party associations and the fact that he is tied to the shutdown.

What I think will be more interesting is whether the birthers who were so loud about Obama are going to go after Cruz, somehow I think the (R) by his name will make them go silent.

One man shut down 17% whopp'n % of the federal government? Who gave him that much power?
The only people with that much power at the time, were Harry Reid, John Boehner, and Barack Obama.

If you had not noticed, shutting down 17% of the government, brought on a Republican landslide in 2014.
Were democrats to ignorant to know elections matter, or did they just have a sour taste in their mouths, from getting "I told you so" shoved down their throats?

The 16 day shutdown didn't really have any major effect on the 2014 elections. If you are expecting a Republican landslide in 2016, you will be as equally disappointed as you were in 2008 and 2012.
