Of their inevitable fail. Boehner will bring a clean bill to the floor and pass it with the help of Democrats. Every knows that's how this will end. Only the Tea Party is incapable of seeing that reality. As usual.

Last time I checked, most young people under age 25 are still without a team and remain independent until their 40's, leaning one way or another.

The independents are who you need to win a vote. With the likes of Rand Paul & Ted Cruz, the Republicans will have a 50/50 pull of the young vote. These are not gray hair crusty old Progressives.

To Government, marriage is a contract. Not the vows you make.

You have every right to honor your vows, but you cannot just tell the government you are married. You must pay the government to acknowledge the marriage. For special privileges from the government no other person can have all by themselves as an individual.

No one is preventing anyone from being with the one they love.
I have a dog and a cat, that you would think they were an old long time married couple.

You want government to create happiness, not just let you make your own.

Republicans have painted themselves into a corner. They can't win a presidential election without tea party support. But they can't win a presidential election WITH tea party support because the senile racists drive moderate, independent voters away.

Fact is though that tea beggars will vote for anybody/anything their talkshow demagogues tell them to vote for. In the past two election cycles, the Republican Party has counted on this... nominating a moderate- knowing that the tea beggars will do what they're told like good little peasants. And they did- hell all these Godly Christians voted for an Elohim cult-leader over their fellow christian... simply because their demagogues told them to. Problem for the GOP is that by the time their moderates have pandered their way through the GOP primary... they've had to sign onto so much crazy that lots of normal people just can't vote for them.

Bottom line is that the GOP in its current form will not win another presidential election. Not until the party undergoes major changes. And they WILL in my opinion. Question is can they do it on their own? Or will they simply have to wait 20 years for the Tea Partiers to die of old age?

Maybe gay people simply want government not to be an impediment to their happiness, for no good reason.

One cannot compare objection to inter-racial marriage between opposite sex couples to same sex couples. It is a ridiculous analogy and not the same thing at all. Not desiring a "traditional" marriage between gays but instead recognizing a civil union is not bigotry at all regardless of the stupid claims in here.

The Teaparty (not teabaggers) is small in numbers compared to mainstream conservatives so what are you talking about? God, I wish you people would get over your obsession with the Teaparty! Senile racists? If there are any they are among the minority in this country and don't represent most conservatives no matter how many times the left lies about it.

No matter who the GOP puts on the ballot you lefties are going to call them Teapartiers anyway because they don't go along with the leftist idealogy. Use to be that the left just objected to the GOP's stand on the issues and vice versa. The GOP has always been opposed to abortion and gay marriage and many other issues espoused by the left so that is nothing new but all of a sudden it is a Teaparty thing? Needed a new whipping post, did ya?

Yeah. I don't trust those that say well we want people to be happy, the fact is if you are anti-gay marriage and pro-civil unions, you are supporting the bigoted and illegal idea of separate but equal because the gay couples who have to get civil unions aren't given the same protections under the law that a straight couple who can marry do.
