Well, we already know that Trumps feels he has never sinned and has never asked forgiveness from God. So I assume when asked the question~ " He who is without sin cast the first stone" (John 8:6-7) Trumpster feels he can step right up there and start the stoning ritual ...
SO, I guess he is perfect. I seem to recall even Jesus asked his father for forgiveness on occasion. There it is..those following him must feel he's the 2nd coming for some reason.
He doesn't have to quote bible versus at all. In truth, it really isn't a measuring stick for his actual "Christian bona fide". Historically, there are a boatload of evangelical preachers who have quoted plenty of bible versus'..yet fell from grace when they sinned ! There's no need to list them as many of them are well known
Do you have a link where it states that Trump feels he has never sinned? I didn't find any such statement. I am not a Christian but this is what they believe: Do Christians have to keep asking for forgiveness for their sins? I do know a lot of Christians that constantly sin and ask forgiveness constantly or should I say that I know a lot of people who "claim" to be Christians?
Mr. Trump never said he didn't commit sin and I don't think he would ever say that. He only needs to acknowledge the sin between himself and God the way I read and understand it. I still think it is good that he considers it a personal matter because those that continually flaunt their being a "Christian" generally aren't much of one anyway.

Hmm. Almost every speech he goes on and on about his FAVORITE book - the BIBLE. Over and over and over again.
I'd say he's flaunting it and probably never read it.
In that case he shouldn't have thrown his religion into the electoral ring.
He's an intelligent man. The question was meant to trip him up and he answered it the smart way. He's not beholden to the liberal media or any base. Another answer would have made him look like a phony or a hypocrite just like the Republican establishments or evangelicals who aren't as smart as him and don't know how to play this extremely unfair media to their advantage.
Admit it, the question was meant to trip him up in some way. If it were an honest question, the media would be asking Ben Carson, I'm sure he has a few favorite verses and Biblical wisdom to share.
I thought you liberals like separation of church and state? This is what you would be screaming if he were a religious man who dragged his dogma into politics, but he didn't give you anything.
You nailed it! Trumps appeal is just that ...Not gonna play your gotcha game. I'm not going to tell you and you cant make me.
i don't see this as a "gotcha" question. a "gotcha" is either a question that has no correct answer ( "when did you stop beating your wife" ) or the interviewer already knows the answer to the question, with evidence to support, and the interviewee is unaware of that fact.
"what's your favorite book" is a softball question but still an interesting one if answered truthfully (IMO)*. i don't believe trump was truthful and i doubt that other politicians would be as well. i think most would answer either the bible or a "safe" american classic.
* i asked myself the question and came up with "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive: A Manual of Step-by-Step Procedures for the Compleat Idiot". i don't read fiction and that book saved my butt countless times. it shows i'm frugal with a DIY spirit but...... the car's connection to hitler could be problematic in my run for the presidency.

Isn't that from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?
