I think the Pope went too far in his statement regarding Trump's faith or lack thereof. But I completely disagree with your comments.

If Jesus were on earth today, I'm quite sure he would be in favor of gay marriage and gay adoption. And I am certain that He would encourage us to welcome immigrants and to share our wealth.

Big difference.
Except that Jesus Christ preached and actually practiced communism, not charity. Many of the early Christian communities were communal enclaves. Pacifistic, too.

Of course, it's no accident that those on the Right who bray the loudest about being "Christians" only quote from the Old Testament and never from the Gospels or the Acts to justify their selfishness, war-mongering, and hatred. The OT is full of that crap. The Gospels and the Acts, not hardly.

No, it would be that they simply got in his way. Or, they were mean to him, or it wasn't fair in some way, or they dared him to make good on his threats to sue them. Anything will do, the more outlandish, the better.

I can't help myself: PeeWee Herman "I know I am, but what are you?" Or, was it "I know you are but what am I?". Dangit, and I don't want to go look it up!

Which finger do you guys suggest I show the Pope?

I'd tell the Pope to get lost but Trump may just say "F off!"

As an ex-Catholic, I can say *#@& YOU, to the Pope.
What an ass.

You are incorrect. The pope is catholic, which is the original christian faith. The pope is indeed christian.

Yes, what an ass.

The Pope condemns the wealthy while hoarding one of the biggest fortunes in the world. He reigns over a very wealthy little country with the MOST restrictive immigration policy in the World. He judges and questions a man's faith while preaching non-judgement of others.

While I can respect any man having an opinion on politics, this man, this Pope is quite the hypocrite.

I STILL think Trumpf never expected that he's be doing well in his run - that it was a publicity stunt.....and now that he's in uncharted territory, he's trying to sabotage his run.....but the **** ain't working.

People love him even more the more profane, the more ignorant he gets.

Buc - you are giving the Pope's influence too much credit! Mass attendance is falling each yr by the tens of thousands, schools are being closed and parishes consolidated because people, although Baptized Catholic, are just not believing what they're selling.

The Catholic church is one of the wealthiest institutions in the world with real estate holdings, some of the world's greatest art ect - and we see how little they have actually done for the underprivileged but they want that envelope filled every week and tell you how much they expect you to give.

The pope is the spiritual leader of the Catholic church - go ahead and preach peace but they have no right to infringe on politics - and even when they do - no one listens.

I personally am sick of both race and religion being such a big part of running for gov't. I don't care what your race or religion - what I do care about is how you are going to serve me - make sure I can work to afford a roof over my head, food in my belly, keep my butt safe from those that wish me harm and make sure what little I have saved will be there when I need it.

Indeed it did. I thought the Pope had it right when he said Christians should be building bridges, not walls.

Herr Trump should listen to him. (Of course he won't because Herr Trump seems to think that "drinking the little wine and eating the little cracker" makes him a Christian.)

4. Pope Francis has no idea who espouses true Christian values.

Here is what he said:

"A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not in the gospel," the Pope told journalists who asked his opinion on Trump's proposals to halt illegal immigration.

.....

Asked if American Catholics should vote for Trump, Francis demurred.

"As far as what you said about whether I would advise to vote or not to vote, I am not going to get involved in that. I say only that this man is not Christian if he has said things like that."

The Pope appeared somewhat unaware of Trump's stance on people who come into the United States illegally, though, saying that he would give him "the benefit of the doubt" until he had heard exactly what the billionaire businessman had said.

Mick
He appears to have been unaware of even who Trump is. I doubt that's completely the case, but he may very well not care who Trump is.

"A person who thinks only about building walls...." isn't Trump, unless that statement is true about Trump.
