Because now many people know who Pence is. Name recognition. He can spent the next 4 years blaming Trump for losing the election.

Kaine was too brutish for my taste, but Pence was like the walking dead.
Kaine got his points across better but in a brash manner. Pence sounded more calm and collected when making his points.

Don't really think this will move the needle either way.

Ohio focus group adored Pence. His demeanor will matter (flawless manners) throughout the Rust Belt and Middle America.

There were several good prospects, but Trump won the nomination. So now it comes down to Trump/Pence or Hillary/Kaine and I have to go with Trump/Pence. I don't want that a$$ Kaine as president if Hillary keels over. I can handle Pence as president if Trump keels over.
