On CBS, only one person in a group of undecided voters thought Trump won. In that same group, all but one thought Pence won. It seems like the consensus is positive for Pence.

But his defense actually showed that Clinton did nothing wrong, where as Pence lied about what Trump did/said even though it can be fact checked and seen on youtube.

Commentator on CNN said it was obvious Pence was a better candidate than Trump.

It's over --yeah! The worst debate in terms of participation and moderator control. Both participants are embarrassing themselves. Kaine has more facts and Pence is living in denial but this is a waste of time. Kaine wanted to rub Pence's face in Trump's instability and craziness. Pence had to avoid going there and pretend Trump was someone he isn't. They should reformat this debate next time like they did with the first joint town hall meeting. VEEPs are simply hatchet men and having them together doesn't work well. Nothing new here.

The part I saw did make me wish Pence was the nominee, but I have been opposed to Trump from the beginning. Not happy that we are stuck with Clinton and Trump.

This does make me feel a little better about voting for Trump. If Trump could learn and come out sounding a little more like Pence in the next debate, that would help a lot.

Kaine is even less likable the Hillary, who knew that was possible?

The debate was the moderator and Kaine against Pence.. Every single time Pence went to talk and make a truthful statement the moderator interrupted and talked over Pence and stopped him from getting his point across. It was disgusting to watch. The moderator was so bias I could not believe the amount of times she over talked Pence when he was making a point against Hillary.

And of course Pence kept his cool as Kaine said all nonsense and half truths about Trump . Kaine is evil, evil and the moderator too. When Pence spoke about facts , they both interrupted Pence and of course Pence is a gentleman and was polite and told the truth about Hillary and her e-mails, her pay for play and her bad foreign policy decisions. All facts.

Excellent analysis.

However, if we could divide the debate into 2 parts, I would say Kaine interrupted too much and sounded too rehearsed at first, but he then took command of the debate.

No matter what Kaine said, Pence didn't defend Trump. It sounded as if he was the one running for POTUS. Regarding his demeanor, I understand Kaine is one of the most well liked Senators in Congress, so he was apparently agitated tonight because he couldn't get Pence to talk about the issues and answer questions. It's not easy for anyone to have one shot and this is the only VP debate. Pres Obama had an extremely poor performance in 2012 and then went on to clobber Romney in subsequent debates.
