No, not at all. The Dems and the MSM were hoping for much better results. The Rep. picked up 65 house sets in 2010 and this year the Dems will likely nap 33 or 34.
I don't care they hoped for, I said these results were what most people predicted.
And truth --- all that we know for sure -- more division than ever. Oh boy here we go again.
Seriously -- Trump can do a little victory dance, Democrats can -- and seriously -- it is not ideal at all.
We can agree on this. However, it works none the same. That's why we have a division of government. It's fairly rare for one party to hold three branches and if they do, it never lasts long.
I'm not a Democrat, I'm anti-Trump and everything I saw before the election said that the Senate would be a no win for Democrats.
I am not liberal either, and never thought Dems had any chance winning the Senate. Beto was a pipe-dream, considering the size of TX rural areas. He came surprisingly close though, which should alarm GOP going forward.

The Senate? There’s only been 5 times in the last 105 years an incumbent President has won seats in the Senate in the off year election. Trump hitting the campaign trail in support of Rep. candidates paid off very nicely.
Dem's aren't getting close to what they had hoped for. Glum faces on MSM. They're seeing this as bad news even though they took control of the House. No "blue wave."

Dems certainly aren't dancing in the streets this morning with joy other than Pelosi and neither side is out there crying and having a fit like we saw in 2016.

I don’t think they expected to lose seats in the senate but the GOP was in control anyway. The house win was a check on Trump, not a wave but pretty sold when you also consider governorships and states.
Come on... nobody predicted or expected the Rep. to gain 4 seats in the Senate.
The Dems were expected to win the house by an ave of 36 according to 538 but it doesn't look like they'll reach it.
This election was supposed to be a referendum on Trump and if that's the case he did fine.
And this is why Dems aren't exactly celebrating any kind of big win or blue wave. Trump looks pretty good now for reelection if last night is a precursor especially with Florida, Arizona and Georgia staying in the red.

I don’t see that, those house votes are a reflection of what 2020 will look like.
