Way to ignore all of the posts in this forum. Obama appointed a FORMER lobbyist to his cabinet, and even then he is not allowed to give any contracts to Raytheon for at least a year. And explain to me how this is bad for America so your post is actually useful.

A senior White House official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, conceded the two nominees did not adhere to the new rules. But he said that Mr. Lynn had the support of Republicans and Democrats, and would receive a waiver under the policy, and that Mr. Corr did not need a waiver because he had agreed to recuse himself from tobacco issues.
No Lobbyist in the Obama Administration ... Except When There Is One - Robert Schlesinger (usnews.com)

Quote:
The day after his Inauguration, President Obama signed an executive order which, among other things, said that any lobbyist appointed to a post in his administration could not oversee policy areas in which he had lobbied.

No sooner had President Obama issued his new rules on lobbyists than he granted a waiver to William Lynn, his nominee for deputy secretary of defense, who had been a lobbyist for Raytheon, a major defense contractor.

So who is actually against Lynn being in the Obama administration? If both Republicans and Democrats wanted him in the government, should Obama just be stubborn and not do something that could benefit America? This isn't Bush anymore guys, hes gonna change his plan if better options come along, not just "stay the course"

So if a man is the best possible candidate for his position, but made a mistake in his life we shouldn't use his abilities? Its that kind of thinking that got Bush in the white house, and destroyed America for the past 8 years. Sorry conservitards, but your way of thinking obviously doesn't work, and is detrimental to all of America, so no one cares what you have to say.

It incredible how many people have faith that going deeper into debt to prop up our system built on debt will make the system work...

This line of thinking reminds me of the people who kept using their homes as ATM's and so kept upping what they owe on their mortgages, and are now losing their homes because they don't have enough income to cover the payments. And low-income earners buying homes for which they should never have been able to get a mortgage. How'd that work out for them? Not very well...

Why do people want the government to do what clearly hasn't worked out too well for overextended homeowners? Do those of you touting Obama's porkulus package have any idea how close we are to plunging into the abyss? Spending more money that we DON'T have is NOT the answer. It's going to get rough. At least TRY to inform yourselves on what we're facing...

"This excess came about because of knowingly unsustainable leverage - that is, credit-to-money ratios. Unfortunately until the total leverage in the system is reduced to sustainable levels there is nothing that can be done to halt demand destruction and economic contraction. Transferring leverage from the private sector to the government cannot change this outcome. In an economic system where most monetary exchange is in fact credit, deleveraging always produces deflation which cannot be halted until leverage ratios return to sane and sustainable levels economy-wide."

I would almost agree with you if I couldn't look back on all the Republican candidates for various posts who were thrown out on their ears for lesser "mistakes". If all were treated equally, I could almost support overlooking non-payment of taxes, etc. (almost, but not quite).

As to the balance of your post? I wonder if you realize that this sort of rhetoric does not impress anyone ... including many who actually share your political views.

For the record, at least 50% of the American people "care" what we have to say ... probably more than that. Unlike you, many Democrats are equally concerned about some of Obama's moves in his first two weeks as President ... most especially this poor excuse for a "stimulus" or "recovery" package. In fact there is such outrage with it by the people of our country that it is being revamped as we speak.

Obama has promised to take out everything that will not create jobs and be a direct stimulus to this economy. So try to keep up.
