Hmmmm .... interesting, isn't it? And the world just keeps turning.

Amazing, isn't it? I think you're right. It much more important to the far left to annoy the other side and win then it is to bring us back to the great nation we can be. I hope that this forum isn't a microcosm of most Americans. I honestly believe it isn't.

And I believe that it probably won't fall apart because the citizens that make up this great country are stronger than that, smarter than that. When the going gets tough, Americans step up. But the fact that it won't will be in spite of this insane bailout bill, not because of it.
Yeah crazy when Republicans change words around to fit their liking, but were used to that already. Kinda like the Patriot Act! you know, the topic we were speaking about that you tried to deflect?

And you say the LEFT is more concerned with annoying the other side? You have die hard conservatives saying they hope Obama fails! You are literally on the opposing side of our president, and hope he fails just to save face! Well too bad man, no matter how you cut it you were partly responsible for the 8 year disaster we all had to go through. Wait until Obama actually does something wrong (which I'm sure he will, hes human) to start bashing him. Its not like Bush where everytime he opens his mouth, his foot goes directly in it.

Not trying to deflect anything. I'm just pointing out that you can argue similar points from either side about several different issues.

Personally I support the Patriot Act. You don't. That's fine. The point has nothing to do, however, with whether you or I support either. My point (separate from your's) is that you can take the same sentence, insert a different name, a different bill, and make the same argument.

I know the far left has a problem doing this because you always believe they're right about everything. The difference is, I don't think that. I'm fine with Democrats being right when they are.

In the case of the bailout bill, they're wrong. That's my opinion.

If you remember, it was the Bush Administration who pushed for the first 700 billion bailout last fall?

And Bush never bothered to make certain that the banks would use it for it's intended purpose. No government oversight. No regulation. Nothing!

And now all the Republicans want to do is be obstructionists, and block everything Obama and the Democratic Congress proposes.

Republicans have no desire to do what's best for the country. They just want to win points for themselves so they can look good in the next election.

I am so happy that Republicans are no longer running things! Our country would never survived another 4 years of Republican mis-management!

I am so glad Obama is our president !!!
The reps can't obstruct Obama's "Stimulous" Bill. Not enough votes.

So....riddle me this: Why is he so bent on getting some, ANY, repubs to vote for it?

Answer: Because he knows it is a masssive, irresponsible socialist SPENDING bill and will only further making govt bigger, not help the economy. He is starting to get kind of queasy that it will be on only himself and the Dems. He's starting to say, "er, uh, this is not MY bill, I take no authorship". Bwahahahaha!

Honestly, if the Dems can vote this in with no prob with nary a Rep vote, why is Barry trying to romance some Reps into voting for it? I'd really like to hear a libs take on this.

Well hes already stated this, but its because he wants to unify the government and get rid of the red vs. blue in politics. Why wouldn't he want people to agree on this bill? Thats what a good president does. And why are you answering your own questions with your obviously biased and irrational beliefs? Its pretty much fact that anyone who uses the word socialism post election is ignorant and just a biased conservative whos butthurt over Obama winning.

You're not just pointing out anything, and everyone knows it so why deny it? This is blatant Obama hate and lots of people are doing it so why fight it? You hate on this bailout bill before it even goes into effect just because you can. The Patriot Act blatantly flies in the face of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and that is a fact because we have already seen its effects. And really, you're trying to compare a bailout bill with the patriot act? you'll lose that argument 10 out of 10 times.

And ah yes, the great generalizations of right and left. Of course everyone on the left thinks theyre right all the time, and the people on the right are just unbiased people minding their own business. What a great argument. Fact is what the right thinks is pretty much a moot point because you've had your way with this country for 8 years, and totally destroyed it. So you can go on thinking whatever you want is wrong or right, but its time for the grown ups to come in and clean up the mess you made.

Nope He even has gone back on his word already. Makes rules then breaks them himself. No Lobbiest's in his cabinet. But he wants to appoint one of the biggest in DC to his cabinet.
