German cities aren't depressing. You went to Germany and you didn't like it. Great. Next!

And are you American? If so it's normal you found German people arrogant and unfriendly. There they don't smile just to be 'nice'.

German cities are pristine compared to most American cities. (I am an American)>
German cities perhaps were cleaner 15-20yrs ago compared to major American cities..

But go today to any major city in the West coast & East coast .. They're very clean and new projects & developement everywhere.. LA looks nothing like just 10yrs ago.. Crime is at 50yrs low.. Etc

So, you were hanging out in the ghettos?

I live in Germany and love traveling to the larger cities.
They're filled with history, cool architecture and amazing things to do.

I find Frankfurt to be meh, but Berlin and Munchen are both lovely.
Lots of museums, architecture, music, palaces in the area, etc. I'm off to Nymphenburg Palace this weekend.
Bavarian Palace Department | Palaces | Nymphenburg

I guess you see what you want to see.
I somehow manage to see beauty and wonder throughout Europe.
Of course, that's what I'm looking for.

They will hesitate and will not even exchange your things even though it's their mistake.. Nothing you can do, customer service is in such a poor state in Germany.. In the grocery stores or what ever people will literally push in font of you.. You call that efficient? It's part of their culture the poor customer service.

How would you feel if you ordered a particular thing and what you received was different? And then you get blame you and refuse to accept the fact that they didn't give you what you wanted? Is that efficient? Forget your money, you'll not be seeing that again..

Things like that are unheard of in U.S.. If that was the case the person responsible would be fired and the business would get closed down anyway since no one would go there..

But in Germany, it's their culture to treat customers like crap..
Please stay in the US.
Seems like you're the definition of Ugly American. We've got enough of them throughout the world.
I've never had the problems you seem to make for yourself; perhaps it's your attitude.
I've lived in Germany three times in my life and have never encountered the problems you say you've encountered.

See that's the problem, you people cannot take any constructive criticism.. Plenty of posts here clearly bashing American cites.. You didn't see me being offended and so defensive about it..

Face it, outside the areas the very popular areas in Germany it is pretty crap, your average suburb is rubbish, average people live in run down looking areas, no houses, just very bland communist blocks. People ride in cheap bicycles, most people don't have cars, everyone is depressed looking.. Very narrow streets, graffiti everywhere, roads made of cobble stone.. That nails it

Btw I was in the tourist areas, and toured the cities I was in, went to many places.

Where is this Germany then, nothing like where I have been living the last 12 years.

I am from San Diego by the way, and I find lots of San Diego depressing.

Berlin was one of the most beautiful city in Europe.
You should see Dresden now.
They've rebuilt the city, it's a stunner!

Your posts included no constructive criticism.
I live in a suburb of a small town in Bavaria, about an hour from Nuremberg.
You have no idea what you're talking about. Period.

Wait, you want to see wanton consumerism? That's your goal in traveling?

Please stay in your country. I beg you.

Constructive criticism? Gimme a break. No one would've been offended if you'd actually criticized something in a constructive way. There definitely are things to be criticized about Germany but what you do is just childish.
But I am assuming you won't return there, so you won't have to endure such a horrible country again and the Germans won't have to endure your attitude either.
