Go ahead and laugh. The people of Belarus are taking this very seriously.
It has become imossible to filter out what is true and false through the lens of our own horrendously corrupt press in the United States.
When our press says or implies the word "revolution", one should always be preapred to find them at least partly manufacturing it or fasely reporting on it. Usually both.
The only people who "don't know" of or won't acknowledge this obvious situation have something to gain.

I can't speak for other people here, but I never once read anything American press has to say about this. They would be a day late anyway as I don't think we have any reporters there. There was one guy from Buzzfeed who had an interesting story about his arrest and that's it.
He's willing to have another election but says the constitution needs to change first. A vote will be held to change the constitution first.
Not totally true. He said they can have a referendum on a new constitution. And that one possible result of a change to the constitution is they can hold new elections.
It is an obvious stall tactic. He is clearly on the back foot and doesn't know how to regain control of the country. "Opposition" flags that used to get people arrested just for waving are now appearing on not just any buildings but government owned buildings. He does not fully control the country or the situation. I understand he has some support in the eastern cities but that's it. He needs time to figure out his angle here. I believe he will continue to push the usual line of impending doom and chaos if people don't change their minds but that is falling flat.
His problem is, the opposition is also completely disorganized right now so time will allow them to more functionally present their demands.
He's done. The question is, does he go willingly or does he resist and give cover for Russian intervention. But who will fight on his behalf?

Yeah, quite possibly a stall tactic but he has to see what is coming.
They really need to change their constitution and do it in an expeditious manner.
I suspect your average Belarussian soldier will fight for his country, not for Lukashenko. Maybe the military should step in and kick everybodies asses. Pro, con and Lukashenko himself plus every other politician in the country.
They all have failed.
Get the right group of officers together and enough soldiers willing to fight if need be and they declare martial law. Find a way to create another more suitable government and hand power back to them when its done.

That's one way out of this?
In my opinion, this option is not the worst, in order to prevent the country from falling to the level of Ukraine in the event of the overthrow of Lukashenka and at the same time to create a transitional period to calm the protests and find a candidate who will be acceptable to everyone.
Lukashenko says the constitution will be changed by a referendum. All they have to do is sort it out. Apparently he will be stepping down at some point.

I find it funny how anything that happens anywhere in the world becomes strictly about biased/corrupt press in the United States.
People around the world want simple stories with heroes and villains. Journalists around the world are happy to oblige, most because they know people don’t like complex stories, some because they don’t understand what they are reporting on. If you think it’s easy to figure out what "the people from Belarus" want as a single entity, then perhaps you’re the one with an agenda.
