Weird you mention the 5 lbs. I want to lose that before our summer trip. I think part of the trouble I have is "it is only 5 lbs" so my discipline is less.
I really like going to the gym with him. I've been a lone wolf basically but it's very encouraging for him and that makes me feel good. He needs to lose 30-40 lbs and is pre-diabetic. He is very discouraged with his weight loss. I feel that the gym will help him feel better about himself. He bowed out yesterday because he's not quite ready for successive days, so yesterday I was by myself.

lol, actually I've been even more disciplined than ever that's what's frustrating! I normally have my weekly cheat day and I gave that up this week so that I can lose and my body responds with a sympathy tenth of a lb.

Yesterday - elliptical and treadmill 50 mins total, upright cable rows, barbell bench press (90 lbs!!, but 4/4, then went down to 85# for the last set of 5), lat pull down with d-grip 80 lbs, leg press (135 lbs), lunges with dumbbells, crunches 160, standing military press (50 lb barbell), incline bench press (using dumbbells)

35 minute run this morning. It was unseasonably warm which was nice. Also did 22 minutes of yoga, hoping to find some time to do it again today.

More sprint and endurance combo training on treadmill and exercise bike for 110 minutes (treadmill up to 12mph short-burst sprints with 10 and 15% incline, and bike sprints of 70-90rpm cadence at medium resistance)

An hour and a half riding on the roads. Windy! But a nice day if a bit hot already.

Cardio for about 30 mins, and a few abs. I locked my keys in my car and I was coordinating a rescue.

I have mine this Sunday, today will be my final run beforehand. Plan to do 4 easy miles and very light yoga. Hope the Sunday temps are down in the 50s-60s for my half marathon, otherwise, I may be toast as running in the heat is tough for me. Nice going on your run.
