Farters.

Haven't paid for/attended a gym in a decade! The only ones who benefit from gyms are the owner and the paid help.

I think that depends. If you're talking about someone sweating profusely (especially on cardio equipment), yeah I agree, but for the casual lifter not really breaking a sweat, I don't see any reason to wipe down equipment after use. I certainly don't do that, although I occasionally wipe down equipment before I use it if I find sweat, etc. left behind and would wipe it down if I left a wet spot(s).

Lots of people benefit from going to a gym.

Decent gyms in my area cost less than $20 per month. Doesn't seem too heavy a hit to the wallet to me, especially since I'm there ~5 days per week. That works out to around $1 per visit.

Yes, that $20/month fee is going to cost my children their food money.

You don't like gyms, we get it. I happen to enjoy going to my gym, and guess what I can afford it!

I'm not concerned about the sweat so much as I am the places the hands go. I see people scratching the nether regions, nose picking, not washing after bathroom, etc. and then using various grips and other parts of machines. Those I am fastidious about wiping down.

I think there have been several threads re: wiping down machines here. I agree with you, I'm more concerned with what people's nasty hands have touched than I am sitting down on a seat where someone may have sweat. Thank goodness for disinfecting wipe stations at my gym.
