Why do people get so riled up over this subject? The OP is complaining about the inaccuracy of the description on dating sites, but hells bells, that's only one of handful of inaccuracies commonly found online. Men lie about their height, their income, in NYC their neighborhood... yet we are all supposed to get up in arms over the word "curvy"? Give me a break.
Don't remember that there was a ruler in the past who had the power. Anyway it doesn't take a ruler for people to use the proper language.
Even when a thin woman has more curves than a thick woman?Pretty much. I mean, really. Look at the pics in the links below. Then I submit that you are considering the popular definition of curvy instead of the actual definition. Not true.
Interesting... I googled "sexiest woman alive" and the first hit (October 2010 - only 2 months ago):
I personally wouldn't call her the sexiest woman alive but she's certainly gorgeous. She looks like an hourglass to me. And she looks very curvy and not plump at all.
I won't doubt that some people consider a particular size 14 woman to be one of the sexiest women alive, but it's not her appearance that gets her there. It's her personality. It's her presence. It's her attitude. And that doesn't have anything to do with her curviness.
I beg to differ. I think Marilyn is sexy because of her fame. It's really not about me. It's about truth. Represent yourself accurately.
She is not curvy. Her waist is 9 nine inches smaller than her hips. It should be 12 (36-24-36). She would not be able to wear jeans made for curvy woman.
Christina Hendricks was voted "sexiest woman alive".
I love Marilyn Monroe because she was beautiful, feminine and curvy. She was also extremely sexy. That girl will be forgotten in a week. Marilyn will live on long after you are gone.
She would not be able to wear jeans made for curvy woman.
This makes me laugh because jeans never quite fit a curvy woman because the waist is always way too big for the pants that fit your behind, lol. Especially if you have a 12 inch difference.

I agree. However, it is a step in the right direction. Designers also need to factor in the curves of a woman from the back. A woman can have a behind and a slim waist. I do not understand why Jennifer Lopez did not design a clothing line based on her figure.
I wouldn't want to be called curvy, OR plump. I don't think either sounds complimentary. And I can't imagine what the point of this thread is. Who sits around thinking up such things?
