I dont wear any foundation on my face at all. I do and have to wear some mascara and eyeshadow to work or else I would look like a walking zombie

Moisturizer moisturizes.

That is the point of it. If you don't NEED to moisturize (I didn't, either, until my thirties), that's one thing. But I'd imagine you could still understand the purpose behind the product.

Yeah -- some brands of cosmetics are "whiffy" -- that's why I have to try EVERYTHING. I can't stand scents on my face. I use Tarte -- no smell. My mom used MAC -- she used some sort of powder foundation -- it did have a scent.

And the idea of some stranger touching my face gives me the willies. You use the words RUB and WIPE -- I'm just coming off a bad rosacea flare and the very WORDS makes my cheeks burn.

I was still playing with some foundation, but I tossed it today. With the last rosacea flare, I decided that I had to get serious about sunscreen. I'm not out in the sun all that much and my tinted moisturizer has a 20 SPF.... but my cheeks are on fire during a flare, so I started using the CeraVe AM formula. Gotta beat back those flares.

I tried to use a little foundation just on my redness (Cheeks and chin) and the stuff rolled up, or the moisturizer rolled up in little balls.... I have no idea, but the foundation got chucked.

Do you use a moisturizer?

NEVER let a makeup artist use their bare hands on your face. They can carry herpes on their fingers and transfer that to your eye. Certain forms of hepatitis can be transferred through sweat too. There are other infections too but those two would be my main concern. Ocular herpes is painful looking and you can't cure it.

I really encourage anyone who does makeup counter samples to swatch on paper and buy a fresh product. Return it if it doesn't work. Its your safest option.

I saw some makeup girl go to use her bare hands on a young girl for the same reason. I stopped her and told them both why not to do that. I asked if her manager said not to do it and she replied yes but what never told why. They both looked so freaked. LOL But went to use the disposable sponges as that is what they are there for. Don't let them put it on the back of their hand either. They can use a plastic palette that should be sanitized in front of you.
