Would you consider it a uniform like a cop or more of a costume, like Batman?

Fashion starts in the big cities but as Vaudeville showman used to say: "But will it play in Passiac, New Jersey or Iowa?"

What's wierd for me (I'm your age) is that on one hand government in industrial nations (except maybe France!) has all this vague harassment legislation going onto the books where the complainant runs the show, but at the same time Miley Cyrus keeps sticking her bum in the camera (along with others in the hood) and we're left as hapless citizens to figure this out. along with our daughters and grand-daughters.

Maybe that's why at least Katy Perry is showing that you don't have to do that IF YOU HAVE TALENT. Or PINK, or....
What about Kim K's aircraft carrier sized ass or Kat Upton's 55 gal jugs spilling out in Game of War commercials? Neither do much for me though many drool over them.

I have caught Charlie's Angels a few times of recent and I miss those fashions. Yeah, I'm a grandpa.

But one can run a test. An ugly woman can show a man pornography and that man is likely to be willing to engage in sex with that ugly woman. I don't think it would work for an ugly man to show pornography to a woman and get the same result.
I remember back in HS during the 70s when girls had feathered haircuts and guys drove Camaros and Trans Ams with T-tops. The guys could be rather ugly but the girls were drawn to the cars and would date the guys.

If a fat ugly girl had a brand new Corvette she couldn't get a date if she put out on the hood of it. The extremely cute little girl with the yellow Gremlin couldn't keep the guys away. It was like flies on honey; literally.

Some wear clothes that fit and some wear clothes they wish they could fit in.
If you girls only knew what guy see, and the way we see them.
But it seems that women dress to impress one another, not men necessarily.
Even so, I think the competition among women is entertaining.
Hint , tight under ware accentuates the fat.
Bikini briefs put a diagonal line across the butt, that doesn't belong there, like a divers flag.
Granny panties that actually fit the butt cheek are better. G string ,almost equal to wearing nothing.
Tight bras do the same thing, all around front , on the side, and in back.

It's not that guys have x ray vision ,it's simply a study done life long, with out really thinking about it.
Loosen up the clothing , let you body move , it's suppose to, especially in a work out but in regular life as well.
Many of the diseases women suffer is due to the lack of movement .
People do all kinds of things to their bodies for attention, or simply a sense of personal excitement defying the social norms.
I feel bad for women with large breasts , that is a heavy load on the back, not to mention doing every day tasks.
If your wearing clothes to be stared at, stop complaining.

Sounds like you put a lot of research into this

I don't know that it's any different than before. I am in my 50s, and I definitely wore my share of short shorts, halter tops, bikinis, etc. in the 70s.

2. Teeny, tiny - 2 sizes too small - panties are Eww! Granny panties are there for the same reason a man wears underwear...to keep his ass from his pants. G strings/thongs are the best thing in the world because !
Tight bras - a cup size or couple of letters too small - are hideous. Why do women wear these things that should have been trashed a couple off years ago?

Young girls/women look different in the clothes designed for them than do Rubenesque grown women.
Why should women wear a tent? I've never seen a fat guy wear a tent. In fact I sometimes see them in shirts that are straining to leap off their body, above pants the create a Dunlop belly and a butt crack. The buttons look like they are ready to hurtle themselves through space and right into someone's eye like a bb.

I could care less though and just look away. It's their business how and why they make their fashion choices.

When a woman oversteps the bounds of propriety and the male is not attracted to her, the response would be similar to the above mentioned scenario.

Will there be a few women who freak out over innocent lingering looks, sure. There are outliers of both genders. There are also men who would freak out and tell a woman she is fat and ugly if she sidles up to him at a bar. It's not the norm, but it happens. (Yes, I have comforted a friend who was shamed that way.)
Totally agree. Back in the 80s when sexual harassment became the in thing , I saw what you just spoke of all the time in many types of work enviorments. Many were flattered by a good looking males attentions yet the less fortunate took a hit and so did the place where they worked. Sexual harrassement stories made the local news everyday.

OP seems to have issues with leggings and yoga pants. No reason for me to wear a Bhurka.

When women quip primping and men quit looking we will finally have reached equality in the work place or read too many Heinlein novels.

Here we go again, another armchair psychologist mixing a specific psychological condition with a woman's CHOICE of apparel. And it is her choice, BTW

A lot of movies from the 70s and even 80s seem to indicate bras were optional. There were lots of nipples on display back then. There were even bras with false nipples so they'd always poke out--I think the magazine ad mentioned what an "ultra-feminine" look it was. I was in high school in the 80s, and the miniskirts girls wore just barely covered our butts. I've seen many dresses from the 60s that were also that short. I have no idea how women sat down in those things. Hemlines went back down in the 70s, but fashions went gypsy/bohemian and the bras came off.

Remember tube tops? Those silky "dolphin" jogging shorts cut up to the hips? Rompers?

You're just getting old.
