I have never seen anyone wearing a Bass Pro hat. I personally do have a Cabella's hat, but I only wear it when fishing. For other things I have other hats, but mostly when out and about I go without any hat. I wear my Nova hat for car shows and swap meets, and my old dirty company hat when working in the yard.

I wouldn't wear a Bass Pro hat if they paid me. I realize that they absorbed Cabela's a few years ago and the Cabela's division has suffered ever since.

My boyfriend has quite a few hats from Bass Pro - baseball cap style. He is bald and likes to try to hide that fact. He rarely takes his hat off unless it's a wedding, funeral, or holiday dinner get together with extended family. He has many hats (OMG, so many hats!!!!) from other companies also. Bass Pro hats are fairly inexpensive. It is definitely not a hip and trendy thing for my BF. I don't think he has a "hip" bone in his body (no pun intended).

Anyone miss the Oakley Thermonuclear Protection craze?

What about the neon-colored windshield wiper streamlining craze?

And what were those sunglass-holder things, like librarians wore only it was frat bro's wearing them in the 90's?

All these fads came out of nowhere and then disappeared.

I'm a diehard fisherman and I have various fishing caps... BPS, Cabelas, Shimano, etc.

The funny thing is that one of my fishing buds HATES BPS caps. He says anybody who wears it is usually a poser who knows nothing about fishing.

TBF I like the quality and more tame look of the Cabelas cap... that is my GOTO cap to wear.

I think it's like the trucker's cap craze... where posers hunted for authentic caps to wear with their outfits when going to the mall etc. TikTok is obviously prone to trendy nonsense posing so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of young'uns who hasn't wetted a line in their life wears BPS caps because it's cool ATM.

And I agree with the poster that stated that BPS ruined Cabela's. They bought out their biggest competition and now it's not as good as it use to be. Cabelas = hardcore; BPS = Walmart.

I rarely wear ball type caps. Usually a brimmed straw type, cowboy or fedora, but when I do it's this one:

I live in the midwest. It's not unusual to see someone in a Bass Pro Shop hat at all. My husband and I spend lots of time outdoors, and he has a lot of hats. He has a couple of Bass Pro, and a couple of Cabela's, and various other hats. He's not trying to make a fashion statement. He's 'being outdoors' and he always wears a hat outdoors.

Truth be told, we shop at Bass Pro or Walmart for all our fishing stuff. (Yeah, we both like to fish.) Soooo...look at us funny if you want. And I'll look at you in your whirly bird beanie hat funny...OK?

OP: why, why, why, why, why would you CARE about a hat that SOMEONE ELSE is wearing????????

Holy crap, what a bizarre opening post. I am REALLY just shaking my head thinking, WTF?! Is your life really so sad and small that you give a crap about a HAT someone else chooses to wear?
