Major Brands: Lindt or Ghirardelli or Godiva

I also like chocolate from small artisans that you find in only one town. That's the best adventure.

There are several lesser known national brands of artisan chocolate sold in my grocery store, but I can't remember the names. Those are usually good.

I bought a Godiva Solid Dark Chocolate bar when I was at Barnes & Noble. It was good but I wouldn't say it's better than a Hershey Bar; different but not better, and not worth the $2.65 it cost. Nice smell though. Just like cocoa butter.

Chocolate bars? Chocolove hands down. I love the dark kinds. They make several shades of dark.

Ghiradelli is OK. Lindt tastes waxy to me. Hersheys is just bad.

I’ve tried other expensive brands, but Chocolove is my favorite.

When we have our old Lexus serviced at the dealer, we always receive chocolates. I have no idea where they get them, but they are the best chocolate candies I’ve ever had. My goodness, they are good.

Rajinder, your location reminds me of Verkade chocolate... Back when we were foot loose and fancy free, my husband worked in the Verkade chocolate factory in Zaandam.. From where we lived, he rode his bike, then took the ferry, then the train and lastly a special taxi took the workers to the factory. Sometimes he would bring chocolate bars home. Our recollection is that it was considered to be a very fine chocolate.

To stay on topic, my favorite chocolate is 100% cacao Ghirardelli. ;-)
Vrolijk Kerstfeest!

Of the brands available in supermarkets, my favorite is Chocolove in the 55-65% dark chocolate variants. Their 77% or 82% dark is surprisingly good, too. Usually anything over 72% I don’t like.

Milk chocolate is almost always too sweet for my taste, but Endangered Species 45% milk chocoate is good.

Baker’s semisweet chocolate squares for baking are pretty good, though not as smooth/rich as my faves.

Hershey’s of any kind, BLARRCH. I never liked it, ever.

I buy the same from Sprouts when its on sale, I'll buy 2 pounds and keep it in the fridge. I think its made in South America, and its supposed to be good quality.

Dove chocolates are another favorite as well as Lindt and Ghirardelli filled dark chocolate wafer squares.

I think my favorite is when our workplace is sent this holiday 'ultimate truffle' layered box with various flavored filled Godiva chocolates. So delectable. Unfortunately they disappear too fast!
I like the MOSER from Aldi's too. $1.99 for 85% cocoa. I have 2 bars in the fridge right now. The way I can beat that price is when the dark chocolate goes on sale at Sprouts...Luder's I think its called, its also 85%.
