instant grits is not real grits- so much salt in them I can hardly keep from shuddering

every holiday dinner for my family has to include my famous cheese grits casserole. yummmy yum yum. son is now living in singapore and bemoans no grits there so when he comes home I have to have grits for him every time he eats with us.

now oatmeal makes me gag, something about the texture and how it coats the inside of my mouth--yuck.

Cheese grits casserole does sound good.

I like grits, but being made of corn they hit my blood sugar hard, so I only enjoy them occasionally now.

The only time I eat grits is shrimp & grits or the garlic-cheese grits my sister makes.

Love grits since I was a child. Just add salt, pepper, butter and lots of cheese. Great stuff!

I prefer savory as well. Might be a Bahamas thing as my mom was from there.

Never heard of that either. I might like them that way.

I grew up in the north east and first ate grits at a diner in southern Virginia when I was about eleven years old. The breakfast came with grits; you didn't have to order them. Maybe everything came with grits. I ate a spoonful of them and didn't like them at all. Well, no one told me that I supposed to put something on them.
