My mother has used one for YEARS AND YEARS! Never had a problem, but I have heard of some disasters with them. I think the newer ones are safe, though.
Oh, I knew what I wanted to ask! What is the deal with corning wear? The kind you can cook with on top of the stove? I love mine!!!!! Can't find it anymore!

I'm not electric and my little ch ch ch valve doesn't always work. No wonder!

It was a little weird cooking with the electric one though....It didn't make any noise.
How did you know to set it for 25 min.?
My ex (here we go again) LOVES the pressure cooker and uses it for everything. To me it seems like it drains the flavor and substance out of the meat. I always thought the meat was tasteless if not for all the other sauces and stuff you add.
I have no clue how to use one and I'm petrified of them. That sounds really gets on my nerves too.
I have found the oven safe ones, etc...., but not the ones that can go on top of the stove burner. I have always made my peas, etc... on top of the stove with my corning wear.
