Hello everyone. Leftovers again tonight. We'll be having leftovers for the rest of the week because we cooked everything in advance. It's cool. I love leftovers.

Well it's now 19 deg out and we're preparing for -25 or so (not windchill) this weekend w/lots of snow.
Today is set for making the last of the christmas gift boxes, chocolate peppermint bark.
Tonights dinner? Hmmm, don't quite know yet. I've got some smoked chicken that needs to go and the leftover smoked turkey is iffy at this point since I get nervous eating food more than a week after it's cooked.
Maybe chicken tacos or nachos?
Since I posted that meatloaf recipe I'm thinkin I need to make it now or at least some meatballs...
I think I need to make a lemon or lime pie as a break from the cookie thing, we'll see I guess.
Have a good one all, time to go sign/pay the kid chef up for the next semester at the J.C. culinary classes

We recently had friends staying with us....and the teen age boy had received a nice cash gift from an uncle with the stipulation that he could spend a portion on himself....save a portion and donate a portion to a charity or cause that he wanted to support.....This was resulting in the young man doing research into different causes......I think teaching charity is a great idea.

My DP said that in Japan.....money is frequently a gift for children...(and adults as far as I can tell)....he said that saving is also taught and expected and encouraged....and Japan has a high rate of personal saving.

Meat loaf for supper sounds very good.....it is going to be cold here too.

Morning all not sure what is for dinner tonight. Older son has a band concert, so something easy and early. Just have to share, we had snow here last night in HOUSTON. It was so pretty and my youngest was very disappointed that it was gone this morning. But last night was nice, the whole neighborhood was outside last night playing in it. Oh well, hope our warmer temps come back soon.

Our youngest grand is a saver and just loves watching her money grow.

Yesterday's meatloaf talk convinced us that's what will be on the menu this weekend. It's -2 here and supposed to snow all day.

Ah lacey...that "is" cold! But as you said earlier---you do have good Dr.s in that area so it's a good trade-off! Just dress up in some warm clothes and slippers and stay here and chat with us!

Good Morning Everyone! We had terrible thunderstorms in the middle of the night that rocked the house. Now I have the windows open and fans on light rain and in the 60's.
Last nights dinner was so delicious, Panko & Romano cheese breaded, baked Talapia, sauted Fingerling potatoes with a vegetable mixture of zucchini, red onions, shallots, garlic and organic yellow carrots.

I don't know what we are going to have tonight as yet, h starts a week of crazy shifts so dinner will be running later than usual. I know that I will be making hot Pastrami sandwiches and potato salad for mid-afternoon lunch. I will check back later.
Have a nice morning everyone.

Yes, the weather seems so odd everywhere. Some of my flowering trees are trying to bud since this couple of warm days here. Poor things...I hope it doesn't kill them!!
