Well, let see, tonight I am making for dinner another typical Cuban dish called "Rabo encendido" which means " Hot Cow Tail"..I am making that with white rice, Avocado salad and French fries!!

Reason: misstake in spelling
Last night we did the dreaded Wal-Mart and went to Outback for dinner, now I know why I cook at home. I had a 6 oz Sirloin steak, baked potato with sour cream and butter and wimpy green beans, h had 12 oz Sirloin, sweet potato and Caesar salad. It was ok. I guess we just don't enjoy going to restaurants any more.
I feel that way too. I seldom enjoy a restaurant meal as well as a home-cooked one. I used to go out mainly for foods such as Mexican and Chinese, but as I learn to cook more and more items from those wonderful cuisines, I pay for them at a restaurant less and less frequently.
Oh, I am always about going out! Put the dishes away and make me a princess! LOL No cooking for me..... Don't care if I am ordering grilled cheese! If I didn't cook it... it was still better than messin' my kitchen up
I ended up letting Diva rest at home and drove her in a tad late. I felt a bit better doing that. Had a great talk with the nurse and I am feeling much more at ease.... Now the chatterbox is starting to get it I think..... oh the joys of winter.
Cyn, you are right on this subject. I am buying my seafood, meat, fruit and vegetables (all natural & organic) at The Fresh Market and when I cook the smell and flavors are unsurpassed. I was thinking of the 2 NY Hareford Strip Steaks I have in my freezer as I poking around that little burned Sirloin on my plate.
OMO the restaurant quality seems to have gone down and we are purchasing better quality to put in our stomachs. I know I always though I detested beef until a couple of years ago, because my mom made "leather" London Broil and the most greasy pot roast in the world. You would walk in the house and could smell the grease.

Are you sure we're not related???? Beef at my mother's is like chewing on your shoe. Her idea of gravy-a bottle of Gravy Master-straight!!!!!!!

Morning all, had chicken picatta again last night for dinner. Tonight for dinner will probably be some sort of stew or soup. We had 28 degree wind chill this morning brrrrrr, and tonight is supposed to get close to freezing so soup is on the menu. If I can get motivated I might even make some homemade bread but we will see. Hope everyone has a good day.
