Had whale for dinner on thursday thisn week at Nilsen Spiseri in Oslo for the first time. So what does it taste like? Kind of like ox and a little bit moose, very chewy I liked it. Very gamey taste. It was served in very traditional Scandinavian husmanskost style with lingonberry jam, potatoes and brown sauce, and various vegetables.

Reporting back.......I really didn't care for this dish. When I tasted the sample I thought I liked it....but when served as an entre.......too much and too sweet! I wont make it again.

We are having a roast sirloin, grilled veggies and probably mashed potatoes, plus a small salad. That will make up for almost nothing last night.
