well of course it is anoter football Saturday so I am keeping it easy and in the football spirit. We are having chicken wings, cold slaw and I don't know what else. I got some awsome turnips at the farmers market this am, but turnips just don't seem right with wings and cold slaw?
Tonight it's flank steak on the grill (it's been marinating since yesterday), au gratin potatoes, and something that may or may not resemble a vegetable. I have to go to the store to figure that one out. But I do have a yen right now for some green beans with hot bacon dressing. And I just happen to have some leftover bacon from when we made appetizers last weekend, and I know green beans are on sale, and if I can sneak away from the husband at the store and grab the beans from the produce section without him knowing until we get home, then I'll be all set!
It's going to be leftovers for a couple of days on paper plates, and then it's on to take-out/eat-out for a few more days after that. My new kitchen is nearing completion, so all the appliances will be in flux after Sunday (sink/water is moving to the new kitchen as I type) until final hook-ups going thru mid-late next week.
Tonight just an omelette with tomatoes and onions and Premium Plus crackers with cheddar cheese and oregano melted in the toaster oven. To drink a glass of red wine which will be carried over to the den while watching TV/movie. It is quite cool and windy here and rain by tonight so we might put the fireplace on and will enjoy some mulled red wine (Glühwein) as well with a slice of spiced apple cake

I feel like making chili. It is perfect weather for it.
