It is quite chilly outside and we have a storm system coming this way by the weekend with rain and heavy winds.Feel like tonight a big pot of orange and yellow lentil soup ( masoor atta channa daal) with basmati rice. After an Indian Masala chai.
I bought frozen talapia yesterday. It isn't my favorite, but we do like to have fish a couple times a week, and it is about the least expensive right now. I will coat it and then bake it. I think I will have squash with it and baby potatoes. We have been out of potatoes for over a week and I got some yesterday. We usually have them about once a week.
I'm going to be working late tonight so I left two homemade uncooked pizzas in the freezer for them, they can make their own salad if they wish and there is beer in the fridge, and a bottle of Cabernet as well.
I am making Chicken Marsala, so DH said, "Can I go to the store for you?". I know this is a slippery slope, but I gladly accept. He leaves without his cell phone, so I rejoice that I am not going to get 2 calls to clarify the 4 item list.
The list contains Marsala wine, which I suspected was too exotic for the closest grocery store. I told him that I can make-do with what I already have, Madeira or vermouth, if he can't find the Marsala, but he might possibly have tuned that part of the conversation out (just guessing).
Bless his heart (the southern interpretation), he came home with Marsala Cooking wine.
I used the Madeira I had in the pantry.
So anyway, we will have that with some tender/crisp green beans.
grilled cheese sammiches and tomato soup. It's a chilly, rainy night and this was perfect!
