I just ran across this deviled egg idea.....most people probably have known how to make these cute chicks for a long time....I'm behind the times I think.....just thought there might be others who might like to make something like this.....I'm wondering if it would look neater if the yolks were piped in the eggs with a swirl cone attachment (to a frosting bag).

These are so cute!!!! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm already slated to bring deviled eggs -- can't wait to try the chicks. Not sure I want to use peppercorns or capers for the eyes though. Maybe little raisin bits? Have to think about that one.

I'm going to a family pot luck, for a big crowd. We can usually count on the following:

Ham
Kielbasa
Potato Salad
Pineapple Stuffing
Fruit Salad
Babka
Cheesecake
Hard boiled eggs for playing "Epper Egg"

Easter has never been an "eating" holiday for us...nothing like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Certainly no set or traditional menus.

Its BBQ time ... Working out the menu with BIL/SIL as it's at their house. Thank the Lord.

We are having
Roasted turkey
pulled pork
Asparagus wrapped in bacon,
Garlic mashed potatoes
scalloped potatoes
Homemade creamed spinach
Artichoke pie ( I am making this)
Beer batter bread (my mom is making this)
Wine
Beer
Mimosa's
Tiramisu ( I am making from scratch)
Other desserts but not sure what, we are all bringing food, my SIL is hosting and making the meats and the asparagus. She's an excellent cook. There will be 15 of us this year.

Lamb is my #1 requirement. The rest is nice, but no lamb, no Easter meal to me.

I don't like lamb but the rest of the people attending do and since my SIL had a Turkey in her freezer she decided to make that. I don't go by what's traditional, I go by what I like and feel like making, in fact in my family we always had Chicken Cordon Bleu.
