Never heard of that, but it sounds like a fun tradition!

A chocolate easter bunny.

As a recovering Catholic, I find religious holidays unimportant. If anything, I suppose they are a good excuse to get family together for nice sit down meals.

I am going to make rib eye steaks and some shrimp. Don't know the sides yet but it worked well for Christmas as everyone seems to do something so it wasn't me cooking all day.

Now that our kids are too old for Easter baskets of candy (their decision, not mine), we have our Easter candy on the Monday after Easter - when it goes on sale!

When I lived in Helena Montana the Easter of 2006 we ate rabbit because my friends father shot it on his land.
We found it befitting the day and despite it's gamey taste we ate it as a form of symbolism.

I made those last year! They are indeed sooo cute! Almost to cute to eat.

This year, as per usual we'll be going to my inlaw's house. We always have Prime Rib and Glazed Ham, salad, rolls, baked beans, some kind of veggies, homemade pies topped with ice cream, and tons of appetizers. I am usually in charge of the appetizers because I love making those. We get there pretty early in the day and just snack on them. I'm not sure yet what I'm making to bring over, so I'm open to ideas!

Some sort of seared animal flesh and lots of sides
OK got the word. Only thing we have to bring is my famous marinated deli style pasta salad.
