Mighty Spark Fresh Bratwurst
I'm suddenly on a very low salt diet, and these are THE best sausages I've found that are OK on my diet. 260 calories and 160 mg of sodium for a 3 oz. link. I actually wrote to the company to doublecheck on those numbers, because the sausage tastes really good!
Can't wait to try these sausages in jambalaya and gumbo, which we like to make in big batches in the winter. I think they will be great! (Well, OK, probably not as good as andouille, but a decent substitute.)
For the first time recently, I tried Greek-style yogurt, even though it's a lot more expensive. But it tasted foul and inedible, so I spit it out and tossed the carton.
My mother used to make the best pierogies I have ever had. I have not found anything close.....until now. I noticed these in the freezer isle, 14oz, on sale for $1.25. I didn`t have much hope....but for $1.25.....what did I have to loose. I couldn`t believe how good they were! Poppy`s pierogies.

I did the same because I tried one of the "authentic" brands the first time. try Dannon Light, you will find it much yummier but still low sugar. Lemon meringue is my favorite, but alas it is seasonal. On July 4 this year, I made an icebox pie with that and sugar free cool whip in a graham cracker crust, and no one knew it was yogurt including the kids. I told them it was lemon pudding.
Tater tots with cheese sauce. Pasties.
We're spending the summer in the Midwest, and trying local foods.
The tots would be a guilty pleasure, the pasties were disappointing.
I always enjoyed black olives but our local Fred Meyer has an antipasta bar with self serve olives. I tried the green ones and now they are my favorites.
I also decided to try the Kind snack bars and found them tasty, even more so because they were a mega deal (buy 5, save way more).
We discovered we really like chicken thighs after years of only eating chicken breasts or baking a whole chicken and making soup from rest after cutting off white meat. We watch for thigh sales to buy big and freeze.
Hubby makes a spicy Korean chicken thigh recipe that never overbakes (unlike breasts).
We love spices and grow several different basils (Thai, regular Genovese, lemon) and hot peppers (birds eye).
Chicken thighs are MY fave too. We grill them.
