Just bought one red sweet bell pepper at Piggly Wiggly for $1.99. Greens were $.99/pound. This is in coastal NC, away from main transit roads.

During the summer, produce stands have them for much less.

I mentioned about buying green Bell Peppers last week at 4/$1.00.

This morning back to the same store and they were 3/$1.00...a little more but extra large then last week so have no problem in that respect. Last week they were still good size and NOT small.

Read where some freeze the peppers...have never tried the bare pepper route only after cooking them.

Will see later on this week.
