When I think of Portland Oregon I think of hippies, hipsters and other types of liberal loons. I think of tons of little cars with coexist bumper stickers. I think of bums in the streets, you know people who are "just trying to live man". I think of drugs. I think of lots of unemployed or underemployed young people sitting in coffee shops griping about "the man". I also think about how beautiful the area must be and how it is such a shame that the kinds of folks I just talked about have taken it over. Its too bad we cant make a bunch of unproductive hippies, hipsters and bums live in an undesirable ugly place instead of allowing them to ruin a beautiful area like Oregon. How about forced relocation of all these undesirables to Detroit Michigan instead, they cant make that place any worse.
IMO, Portland is a cooler (temperature), safer, but less diverse version of Sacramento.
I'd probably prefer Seattle or the Bay Area, but I could live in Portland if offered a job there. Though Portland does have some neat things going on, I feel that there are other MSAs similar in size to Portland that offer more culturally. I'm thinking St. Louis, Denver, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Kansas City.
I would like to know, what does the rest of the United States think of Portland Oregon? What are your thoughts on the city and what was your time there like?
I've heard theres lots of hip, young people. Still shows some of its industrial past but very green and lush. And they don't like to be compared to Seattle. Oh, and from what I've read here it seems like it's one of those cities that loony, god-fearing Conservatives love to talk crap about. "THEM STUPID HIPPIES DON'T KNER WERT THEIR MISSIN HURHURHUR"

On a scale of 0-10, I'd give it a 7.
OMG AHAHAHAHAH :spit: :rip: SLAY HUNTY THE DELUSION!! :rip:
Has problems keeping its schools running smoothly, lots of whacks that voted against fluoridation of the city water supply. Apparently lots of work for dentists there!
