Your opinion I suppose. I've never been there.

Mod cut: Orphaned (quoted post has been deleted).

I've been to cities with <100,000 people that have more activity and more character than the entirety of downtown Phoenix--and Phoenix is the fifth largest city in the U.S.!

And then put a giant heat lamp over the metro.

I was in Phoenix after Thanksgiving and the sun was roasting me. I couldn't imagine dealing with that sun year round, especially in the Summer.

Atlanta's not much better, less intense sun, but much more humidity. And it's like one giant sprawling suburb with no character. No thanks.

Moved from Champaign to Denver in 1980. It took a while to get used to the new culture. Far more libertarian plus Colorado was way more conservative then. Nice thing was that stuff wasn't always on back order like in Champaign, but that's the difference between living in a big city and a small isolated one.

Weather much better here.

They all moved here to Phoenix. Exotic to us, they sound like Sarah Palin.

Fled Illinois...lol. Some of us moved because of a job change, and would move back in a heartbeat.

I mean it’s the American way: move to someplace that is booming and inexpensive until it becomes over crowded, take advantage of the resources until they become bankrupt, complain about it, and then move on to the next fad city. Places like TN, FL, TX can’t stay cheap forever. Remember: they used to just give away land in CA, and Chicago used to be the fastest-growing city in the world. Times change.
