14 years later, not much has changed. Illinois and Ohio continue to lead the way in terms of out of state plates in Indianapolis and it isn't really close. MI/KY are three and four behind them. Makes sense, these are the four states that border Indiana.

I've noticed a lot more cars from Missouri of late, not sure why.

California, New York, Florida, & Illinois are the top out of state plates that I see in Austin, followed by Oklahoma, Colorado, Arkansas, & New Jersey.

Illinois plates are very common here. Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Indiana plates can occasionally be found. Kansas plates are very rare. Everything else more so.
