the most diverse town in New Mexico has the highest crime rate in the state, its a smaller town(population 20,000) with about 40% Native American 30% Hispanics and a growing number of Arabs along with the Whites, however a girl I know from there said they were always fighting in school. It isnt like this in other towns in NM though.

I would still rather have diversity though than live in a town of 75% hispanics or whites or blacks etc....

I grew up in Los Angeles and lived in Southern California until I was about 30 and I'm not sure all the diversity did me much good. Crime, hate, intolerance are just of the few things I learned. The riots in 1992 were a real learning expirence for me, I got out as soon as I could. Of course I had to get my truck rebuilt first (all the glass was smashed). It seems to me that when injustice happens to a minority they blame all white people.

Hmm, so people in Sweden, Iceland, and Japan are all ignorant? What about states like New Hampshire and Minnesota, I guess they're ignorant too?

In a sense, yes.

Not necessarily maliciously so, just ignorant of a lot of different backgrounds and cultures. And we all are, some more or less than others.

I understand your point, but what if you don't care about different backgrounds and cultures. I for one don't and am quite happy that way.

I think its better if people share similar culture and values though by no means does this mean it should be racially homogeneous. As long as second generation people are Americanizing there is absolutely no problem.

Live where you want around who you want. Just because we share the same country does not mean we have to like each other. Do your own thing in your own part of the Country and others will do their own thing. Exclusive worlds based on race has ALWAYS been part of American life and it will ALWAYS be part of American life. I think some folks are starting to realize that we will NEVER get along and that MLK's dream is a pipe dream. Once you make peace with that, you'll be fine.

In a correct world, we wouldn't but this is what we have. You can't hold up your life because race relations and diversity is not what people want. You have to move on. You can't force people to like other people. See, it's very easy to get past this once you try ...and I'm black fyi.
