Recently went on a business trip to San Diego- loved it! I know nothing can compare to San Diego, especially its weather, but is there any city on the east coast similar to SD in terms of geography, lifestyle, people, ambiance, etc.?
I know a city that can compare to San Diego, Los Angeles. *It has the same weather same geography same beaches, lifestlye, ambience, but a million times better. *LA is also more diverse and cultured. *You get so many cool and diffrent neighborhoods too like the North Hollywood and Santa Monica *and koreantown to little Tokyo, Malibu and Beverly hills, Pasadena, Hollywood, downtown LA, it's very cool. *Plus the awesome night life.*
So you cannot say it's an insult to compare Florida
Yes can. You don't have to agree though.
Florida is mainly for people from the East Coast who want warm weather beaches and they either have not discovered So Cal or Hawaii or think it's too far away. Am I wrong?

Florida also shares East Coast time. That 3 hour PST really makes a difference in work operations-I think thats another reason why CA doesn't feel so rushed.
Besides, Southern Florida is known as the 6th Borough-just as many pushy East Coasters down there.

Or, as in many places down here, can't afford SoCal or Hawaii
Some places are VERY expensive down here like where I am, but alot of areas are not unlike SoCal
no way, the west coast and east coast are complete opposites in many ways. I live in Norfolk and the only thing it has in common with San Diego is the Navy base.

San Diego doesn't have the same amount of traffic, sprawl, smog, fakeness, etc. What makes people like San Diego is exactly what makes people hate LA. Other than weather and location, the two cities have very little in common. San Diego is for families, LA is for coke fans (and not the cola).

I would think San Diego is only a vaction spot not really to live in. The job market is small so it's hard to find one and the coast of living is high too.

And yet it is pack full of people, families, etc. doing just fine. The cost of living in much lower than LA or the Bay Area and is even lower than Orange County. The housing cost is high compared to salaries.
