No, I don't think you are born either way, as a teenager I was definitely liberal, by the time I hit my twenties I
was very conservative, now I am more moderate, but leaning more toward liberal than conservative.
I am not sure if it was me who changed, or if it's the political climate or the state of the world. But I changed - several times. ( I hope I don't sound fickle - I just consider myself to be very open minded and adaptable.)
And as far as brainwashing - my parents were conservative republicans and my Grandparents Liberal Democrats - so go figure that one out.
