Would you advocate for a more liberal assisted suicide law in this country like in Belgium? (legal, death)

This alarmed me. I am all for assisted suicide but somehow this seems extreme. Pain is so subjective and it seems these two men were more in psychological pain than physical pain. What do you think,
I support it. If they didn't have the option that way then they might have chosen a more gruesome way out. At least this way they could say their last goodbyes to those they loved and be in a calm environment.
Their will always be differing views when it comes to things like this of course, but to that family it does not matter. Some personal freedoms should not be trumped by society's opinion.
I completely support it. Adults have the right to do what they wish with their bodies as long as they don't harm anyone else. And if you don't like assisted suicide, well, don't assist one or be assisted.
Let me play devil's advocate. What is a person was facing a trail which, if found guilty, would mean a long sentence in prison and this person asked to be euthanized instead of the trail. Would that be grounds for suicide? Or if somebody owes a tremendous amount of money to either another person or tax money and this person decides it would just be easier to die? Would that be grounds? Seems to me we would end up with real death panels of people charged with making such decisions and it would never end. Or should pain either physical or psychological be a component? People could argue pain in all sorts of scenarios couldn't they?

Not medically assisted suicide (which is what this discussion is about).
Could they still go for a walk in the woods with their .38? Sure could.
Yes I would advocate for this. As long as the person is over 18 and is found to be of sound mind. Who am I to make someone live, yet most people petition for the death penalty. If a person wants to die, they will find a way to die, at least this is more humane
I think the big question is "mentally sound" and I don't think they passed that. So, how would you feel if your 20 year old daughter, being of sound mind (not) and legal age, decided that since her lover had died that she could no longer go on and that the suffering was too much.................... Or, your dad dies at age 55 and your mom doesn't want to go on because she can't face getting up in the morning because she won't see the face of your dad there next to her in the morning? I don't see suicide, assisted or not, as a moral or sane choice. Assisted suicide is edging closely to you ending up with an obligation to die to spare others sorrow and expense. The value of a life seems less everyday.
